Unibat battery plates are made from high grade Australian lead (not recycled lead) which means they are able to withstand the vibrations and lean angles common in bike and scooter riding without failing (which is why cheaper batteries using recycled lead are prone to failure!).

The first letter (Y, C, D or G) denotes the motorcycle battery manufacturer and can be substituted for another letter depending on the make of battery, for example: YTX7L-BS, CTX7L-BS, GTX7LBS, DTX7L-BS are all the same battery

Question: I am looking for replacement battery for my Honda Shadow 125 (the battery has ETX7L-BS on the front of it). Will the YTX7L-BS work fine for this bike?
Answer: Yes, the YTX7L-BS is the same as the ETX7L-BS. The first letter is a manufacturers letter and does tend to vary between different makes and batches of battery (so the CTX7L-BS, DTX7L-BS, ETX7L-BS, GTX7L-BS etc are the same as the YTX7L-BS).
