Basic 6v or 12v selectable UK plug motorbike battery charger with dual LED indicator light, reverse polarity indicator, auto stop system to prevent over charging and supplied with 2 interchangeable connecting leads and a European plug socket adaptor.

Supplied with:

• Crocodile clips for connecting directly to the batteries terminals
• Easy Charge terminal leads for connecting permanently to the battery terminals whilst battery is on the bike
• 2 Pin electrical socket adaptor for use in European plug sockets

Features:

• Lightweight and compact design
• Easy to use plug in design
• Auto-stop feature to help prevent battery over charging
• 6 Volt or 12 volt battery charger. Voltage can be selected using a switch on the side of the charger
• 1 Amp output current suitable for charging batteries up to 20 amps per hour
• Reverse polarity protection system incase the charger is connected the wrong way round on the battery terminals
• Spark proof connecting system and fireproof plastic case
• Suitable for motorcycle, scooter, ATV, automotive and jet-ski 6v or 12v batteries
• Solid state, dual colour LED indicator light. Glows red when the battery is charging, green when the battery is charged and does not glow at all if the terminals are connected the wrong way round

Please note - Although this charger has an auto cut out feature it is a basic battery charger and is NOT designed to be connected to the battery for long periods.
This charger should be disconnected when the battery is fully charged.

Question: Can you please explain the difference (if there is any) between a motorcycle and a car battery charger?

Answer: Basically car battery chargers charge at a much higher rate than motorcycle battery chargers.
Due to all the things they have to run on a car, most car batteries are much larger and much more powerful than motorcycle batteries and require a more powerful charger.
Due to the small size and relatively low power output motorcycle batteries have, they require a much lower powered charger (and charging them with a higher power/car charger can damage the plates inside the battery).

Question: Can I use this battery charger to charge car and van batteries as well?

Answer: You can use this charger to charge larger (e.g. car and van) batteries. BUT, because this is a low power output battery charger designed for use on motorbike and scooter batteries it will take FOREVER to charge larger batteries (especially diesel car and van batteries).
We have tried charging a van battery with one of these chargers ourselves and it took just over a week to fully charge the van battery!
You would be much better off buying a charger designed for charging car, van and larger vehicle batteries.
