Rock Oil ST90 gear oil can be used for: - Spindle lubrication
- Motorbike and scooter gear boxes that use non EP (extreme pressure additive) oils
- Bearing lubrication
Rock Oil ST 90 gear oil is a highly stable, long lasting lubricant with a high viscosity index and oxidation resistance which provides maximum protection against rust and corrosion.
ST90 also incorporates anti foam agents and has excellent water separation qualities.

Question: I need some gear box oil for my 1959 Vespa.
The original manual states the oil should be Essolube 30, Shell X 100.30, Energol 30, Castrol XL or Mobil Oil A but scooterhelp have said the oil should be ST90 or an SAE Motor oil?
Answer: For a 1959 Vespa gearbox you would need Rock Oil ST90 gearbox oil. The oils your manual recommends are all much older (and probably discontinued now?) gear oils.
