Rock Oil Guardian 10/40 is a premium grade semi-synthetic 4 stroke engine oil and is blended from group 1 (the best!) oil base stocks.
Guardian 1040 has been specially developed to meet the exacting demands of the latest JASO MA2 oil testing specifications and is suitable for use in the latest 4T motorcycle engines (that require a 10 40 oil up to API SL).

Question: I am after a good quality Rock Oil semi synthetic for a Kawasaki ZX10R (2004) that I use for racing? I am after 25 litres.

Answer: Rock Oil Guardian 10w40 would be the best oil to use for a racing Kawk ZX10R. Guardian 10w40 has been tried, tested and approved for track by numerous racing teams and is made from mainly group 1 oil base stocks (as opposed to many semi synthetic oils out there that are made from lower spec group 2 or 3 base stocks).

Question: I just wanted to know what does JASO MA and JASO MA2 standard for oil mean?

Answer: Warning, the following part is a bit boring (unless your an oil anorak!):
JASO stands for an oil standards organisation known as the Japanese Automotive Standards Organization.
In 1998 Jaso developed a set of standards for 4 stroke oils which were measured against an oils ability to resist clutch friction, slippage, protection offered against engine wear and pitting in the gear box (JASO-MA was the standard given to higher friction oils and JASO-MB to lower friction oils).
JASO-MA2 is a recent standard brought out by JASO for oils which meet the stringent motorcycle performance needs of later (and more modern) motorcycle engines.
The JASO MA and MA2 specifications are the only true motorcycle specific approvals available and as such are a sign that the oil has passed stringent motorcycle performance tests.
